I’M NO LONGER THE MONSTER I ONCE
WAS: IVAW activist Jon M. Turner began his Winter Soldier
2008 testimony, “‘Once a Marine, always a Marine.’ But there’s also
the term, ‘Eat the apple, F the core.’” With that, Turner ripped his
many medals from his shirt, “I don’t work for you no more.” In
bravely relating his horrific experiences In Iraq, Turner exposes
the purposeful and on-going creation of monsters by the U.S.
military, the politicians who direct them and the public which
acquiesces. As Francisco Goya wrote many years ago, “the sleep of
reason produces monsters.”

statements by Dr. Jones." The university took the very
rare measure against Jones (paid leave) because there was a
question about [the] professor's performance in citizenship,
